

McCosh, Samuel Andrew, age 88, passed away on May 13, 2012 at Physicians Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, TN. He was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star during World War II. Sam was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred A. McCosh, mother; Alice Cofer McCosh; first wife, Helen Littleton McCosh; and daughter, Sammie McCosh Huiting.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Day McCosh; daughter, Sherry (Don) Smith; stepdaughters, Susan (David) Price and Sandi (John) Sweeney; grandsons, Jeff Hickman, Jason Hickman, Greg (Tena) Huiting, Kevin (Tonya) Huiting; great-grandchildren, Megan Huiting, Sierra Huiting, Javan Huiting, and Caden Hickman. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wallace Memorial Baptist Church Bus Fund, 701 Merchant Dr., Knoxville, TN 37912.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 5 – 7 pm at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchant Dr, Knoxville, TN 37912. The funeral service will follow with Dr. Mike Boyd and Rev. Kent Williams officiating. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, May 16, at 1 pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
