Sharon "Sherry" Kennedy, 58, passed away in her home on October 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. After a long, tough fight, she finally lost her battle with ovarian cancer. Sherry was born and raised in East Ridge, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Velma and Bobby Lewis. Sherry is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenny "KY", and her daughter Kimie "LuLu" and her son-in-law Matthew. She loved her family very much, as they did her.
Sherry and Kenny spent 20 years working and raising their family in Myrtle Beach, SC before moving back to Tennessee in 2009. Sherry loved her job in the golf and entertainment industry while in Myrtle Beach, but it was cut short due to chronic illnesses in 1999. She fought a long battle agains Lupus and Fibromyalgia, but nothing prepared the family for the fight against stage 3C ovarian cancer that started in November 2012. In January 2014, she fought and won a battle against sepsis and a broken hip, only to have the cancer return.
She decided to live life to the fullest up until the end. With the support of close friends and family she was able to take her dream trip to the Grand Canyon in August. She found the beauty of America and had the time of her life.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga for the care they provided during Sherry's final stage of life. They would also like to thank Babs and Steve Leach and the congregation of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga for their wonderful support of Sherry's baptism.
Sherry had a very outgoing personality and made friends everywhere she went. She loved to laugh and her smile was contagious. Her favorite things to do were to go to her boat, The Happy Marguerite, and go on driving adventures in the mountains. She loved her family more than anything and would do anything for them.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
"Give 'em Hell, Turn their heads
Gonna live life till we're dead,
Give me scars, give me pain
Then they'll say to me, say to me, say to me
There goes a fighter, there goes the fighter
Here comes the fighter
Thats what they'll say to me, say to me, say to me
This ones a fighter."
