

Shirley Ward Trott, age 75, of Knoxville, TN, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 2026. A graduate of Fulton High School (class of 1969), she was retired from Kroger. She was a member of Son Light Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer. She was ever kind and loving, despite battling many health challenges. She was resilient and strong, never giving up and never complaining. She loved working on crossword puzzles, watching tv shows, and rooting for Tennessee football.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend William “Bill” & Mary “Betsy” Ward, siblings, sisters Juanita Selvidge, Wanda Childress, and Kathy Cox, brother Melvin Ward, nephews Ronnie Ward & Edwin Myers, father-in-law James Henry Trott Jr, mother-in-law Lucille Trott, and sister-in-law Carolyn Yarber.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 54 years, Jerry Trott, brother Ronald (Candy) Ward, and sister Dorothy (Eddie) Myers, brothers-in-law Don (Wanda) Trott and Bob Yarber, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Son Light Baptist Church off Rifle Range Drive on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 6pm-7pm with the funeral service to follow. Reverend Eddie Myers officiating. Interment will be on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 1pm at Greenwood Cemetery off Tazwell Pike. Pallbearers will be Gary Childress Jr, Jonathan Myers, Joshua Ward, Jimmy Trott, Paul Weaver, and Jayden Trott. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.
