Tammy Michelle (Emert) Houghton, 59, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Kenneth Emert and Brenda (Murrell) Stanley.
Tammy was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was known for her vibrant personality, her strong will, her generous nature, and her exceptional sense of humor. She was a graduate of West High School and University of Tennessee with her bachelors in Marketing. She loved graphic design, running her own successful business, spending time with her loved ones, relaxing on the beach, and would frequently spend time on her porch watching wild animals with her pets.
Tammy is preceded in death by her father, her sister, Dee Dee Rodriguez, and her beloved dog, Rambo. She leaves behind a large, loving family: her children, Jonathan (Rick) Vecellio of Denver, Colorado; Elisha Swainston of Knoxville, Tennessee; Christian (Cassidy) Emert of Knoxville, Tennessee; Taylor McNutt of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, her grandchildren: Landon, Logan, Zane, Zeke, Oliver, Celia, and Sylvie, her mother, Brenda Stanley of Panama City Beach, Florida, as well as her former partner and lifelong friend Tim McNutt of Knoxville, Tennessee.
A celebration of Tammy's life will be held at Calhoun's on the River on Sunday, September 15th at 11 am. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
