

WIDNER, TED, age 66, of Grainger County, formerly of Knoxville, went to be with JESUS on September 13, 2013. He enjoyed friends, family, boating, living on the lake, traveling in the RV, and “trading cars”. He was an electrical engineer and retired from TVA after over 30 years of service in nuclear instrumentation and controls. He continued as a consultant in the industry after retirement. He was a long-time member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church where he was a member of The Stretcher Bearers Sunday School Class and sang in the choir. Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Ruth Widner and nephew, Ryan Crumpton. Survived by wife, Stephanie L. Widner; son, Mark Widner and wife, Amanda; sister, Connie Dalton and husband, Dennis; niece, Brianna Crumpton; special pet, Tucker; many other special family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday with the funeral to follow at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchants Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912. Dr. Mike Boyd, Rev. Kent Williams, Dr. Randy Macon, Rev. Jim McPherson and Rev. Chad Crawford will officiate. Family and friends will meet for the interment service at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
