Tommy Gerald Basler Sr.

Tommy Gerald Basler, Sr., age 92, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was born November 14, 1929 and was the rock of his family. He served in the US Army as a Sergeant with the Special Forces. Tommy retired from Royal Crown Bottling Company after 44 years of faithful service. He then worked for O'Reilly's for another 23 years before retiring at 89 years old.

Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Jeanette Basler; parents, Otto and Johnnie Basler; sisters, Imogene (Bill) Fincannon, Betty Jo (Don) Kron; brother-in-law, Bill Watson. He is survived by daughters, Brenda (Phil) Culver, Janice Basler; son, Gerald (Leann) Basler; grandchildren, Josh (Becca), Dale (fiance, Tiffany), T.J. (Sydney), Alex, Austin (Missy), Andrea; great grandchildren, Kylie, Taylin, Seth, Harper, Emery, Easton; sisters, Shirley Watson, Judy (Jerry) Kelley; brother, Jack (Linda) Basler; several nieces and nephews; special friends at O'Reilly's and Pratts. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers of Avalon Hospice and SCHAS.

Family will receive friends Monday, June 13th from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7pm. Family and friends will meet at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home Tuesday, June 14th at 12:30pm for procession to Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike for the committal service at 1pm. Pallbearers are Josh, Dale, TJ, Alex, Austin and Nick.
