Crippen, Vera Smith, age 74, passed away at her home in Farragut, August 30, 2011. She was born in Lake City, TN in 1936. Preceded in death by her parents, William Ezekiel Smith and Edna Letha Clinton Smith. Survived by her son, Jeffrey Crippen of Farragut. Vera was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell and served as the first kindergarten teacher for Temple Baptist School in 1971.
She was an avid collector of dolls and enjoyed drawing and painting and taking care of her home. Over the years, she had 3 special dogs, Essex, Carrick, and Duffey who got most of her attention. She will have a private burial in Greenwood Cemetery next to her parents. The family is being served by Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home.
