William H. Manchester, "Bill", of Knoxville and formerly of Muskegon, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Father's Day, June 20, 2021 at the age of 89. He was an active and faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, where he served in various ways. Bill was an architectural engineer and entrepreneur who served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was gifted in so many areas, painting, mural art, writing, business, and gave of his time and talent to his family and community so generously. He leaves a legacy rich with his example of duty, hard-work and integrity.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Adele Manchester; first wife, Delores Manchester; and his best friend, Gene Yingling. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 33 years, Joan Manchester; children, Dan Manchester and wife, Trish, Deborah Predum and husband Randy, Brenda Weaver and husband Josh, Curtis Manchester and wife Kristina, Kristine Dyer and husband Shane; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Manchester and wife, Alice; and other extended family and friends.
The family will Receive Friends on Thursday, June 24th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral home, 2300 Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00pm, with Pastor Clarence Sexton officiating. We will meet at East Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920 at 8:15am for an 8:30am Graveside Service & Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Crown College Scholarship Fund or UTMC Hospice in Bill's memory.
