

She is survived by her five children: Feliberto Ortiz Jr., Rogelio Ortiz (Laura), Daniel Ortiz (Natasha), Magdalena Rangel (Ruben), Christina Barrera (Rudy). She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, brothers Jesus and Alonzo, and sisters Estrella and Guadalupe,
Andrea was born in Harlingen on April 21, 1933. She was married to Feliberto Ortiz in February of 1953, and they remained devoted to each other until his passing in June of 2020. Andrea spent her life caring for and nurturing her family and relished quality time spent with them. She was always willing to help and support those she loved in any way she could. She had a strong, unfaltering faith and was always happy to share it by word and deed. She was an avid reader and was particularly fond of mysteries. She especially loved sharing her passion for reading with her grandkids. She happily spent her time outdoors, tending to her plants and basking in the sunshine. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and devotion to family lives on through those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Feliberto Ortiz, parents Demetrio and Francisca Sosa, brothers and sisters Carmen, Margaret, Gonzalo, Demetrio Jr., and Maria and her beloved dog Bruiser.
A visitation for Andrea will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 1313 W Buchanan St, Harlingen, Texas 78550. A burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559.
