
God's angel choir greeted a new member Tuesday, December 19, 2017, when Wesley lost his 33 years battle with heart disease. Wesley was born in Cooper Texas June 1, 1941 and lived all of his life in Weslaco.
He is preceded in death by his father Marshal W. Wright (Jiggs), a brother Simmey G. Wright. And a son David Wright. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of thirty-five years, Olivia Martinez Wright, and children Steven S. Wright, Huntsville TX, Lesley A. Ozuna, Ingram TX, Pamela (David) Dallas, TX, Lauri. L. Beach, Denver City, TX. Grandchildren Bobby and Samantha Ozuna, Sydney and Cheyenne Beach, Arron, Nathan and Eva Oksanen. Emily and Hunter Wright. His mother Ali Fae Wright, brother Ricky Wright, sister, Brenda (Jamie) Forester. Several cousins, nieces, nephews.
He graduated from Weslaco High in 1959, attended Pan American, went to work with his father. After his father closed the business he went to work for Bobby Maupin, Bud Payne and Nunn's Auto Service, open a business of Wesley Front-end Service until his health did not permitted it. He got involved transporting handicap children to Houston Texas, he found his calling. He loved the children and they loved him very much.
Wesley became a Master Mason on 12/17/1962, Weslaco Lodge No 1212, which later merged with Llano Grande No 1173. He served as Master of his Lodge seven times, the first in 1969. He received the 50- year service award in 2013. He served the Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand master in 1995 as District Education Officer in 1996-1999 and on several Grand Lodge Committees. He became a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of San Antonio on 3/28/1992. He was awarded the rank and decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor on 10/3/2001. He was made a 33rd degree Honorary Inspector General on 9/19/2015. He was a charter member of Rio Grande Lodge of Perfection and served as its Venerable Master in 2016. Wesley joined the Hidalgo York Rite bodies on 10/07/1995. He has served as High Priest of Hidalgo Royal Arch Chapter, Thrice Illustrious Master of Hidalgo Council of Royal and Select Master and Commander of Hidalgo Commandery of Knight Templar. He has also served the Grand Chapter and Grand Council as District Deputy. Wesley was elected to the Knight of York Cross of Honor 11/9/2001. He was elected to membership in the South Texas York Rite College in 1997. He was elected to membership in South Texas Conclave, Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine, and served as its Sovereign in 2011. He was member of the Rio Grande Shrine Club, Past President and Recorder at the time of his death.
The children and I would like to thank Dr. D. Calvo and his staff of Weslaco, Dr. Hector Urrutia and his staff of McAllen for taking such good care of Wesley.
Honorary Pall bears all Master Masons of the Rio Grande Valley and his class of 1959 Weslaco.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2pm at the Llano Grande Masonic Lodge in Weslaco, TX. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Llano Grande Lodge for their scholarship fund and to Rio Grande Valley Shrine Club of La Feria TX.
