

His parents were Carmen and Julia. Chon passed away on April 25, 2021 at the age of 87.
His siblings were Evarista, Benito, Juanita, Catalina, Jesus, Carmen, Rodrigo, Carolina and Gloria.
Chon was 19 when he was drafted in the Army for the Korean war from 1953-1955. His duty assignment was "Battery 21st Field Artillery Regiment". He received the National Defense Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal as a wireman after the Army, Chon moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin and began working for International Harvest. At age 29, he married his first love, Emilia Salinas. Together they had 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Their son Michael married to Lori and had one daughter named Angelica. Angelica has 2 girls named Kailey and Makenzie. Elva has 2 daughters named Lisa and Carol and a son named Tyler. Julia has a son named Rodney and a daughter named Krystyna. Carol has a son named James and Krystyna has a son, Paul.
When Chon retired, they lived on a farm named The Mexican Farmer. Chon had a passion for farming. He knew how to grow anything. He grew tomatoes, peppers, apples, pumpkins and raspberries. The family would all pitch in to help with the farm and country store where they sold their harvest.
After 40 years of marriage, Chon lost his wonderful, loving wife, Emilia to Cancer.
The next chapter in his life began when he moved to Santa Rosa, where he would marry his second wife, Petra. They bought a home together and lived out their 17 years. He continued with his love of gardening, but this time he would grow roses, bringing her coffee in the mornings with a beautiful rose he would cut from his garden. Petra would always say what a wonderful man he was. He was so loving and thoughtful. His marriage to Petra would bless him with more family. Chon had 2 step daughters, 4 step grandkids, 5 step great grandkids and 5 step great great grandkids. Rosalinda was the mother of Candida and Antonio. Candida and her husband, Omero, had Ryan and Gabrielle. Antonio had Alexia, Robert and Peighton. Chon's other step daughter was Cynthia who married Sam had Mia Sara and Samuel Falcon.
Chon lived a full, rich, wonderful life, surrounded by all his family who loved him dearly. He was a man of the Catholic Faith and was dedicated to God, and he faithfully attended St. Mary's Catholic Church with Petra.
Chon will always be remembered for his passion of farming and gardening, his love for all of his family, his wonderful advice, and his compassionate heart.
Chon will be missed by all who stepped in his path. We all love you, Chon, and may you rest in peace.
A visitation for Chon will be Thursday April 29, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX 78559. Rosary to follow at 7:00PM.
