“Belly” was known for her big heart and most loving spirit. She attended and graduated from Falfurrias High School, Class of 1979. She was a true member of the Falfurrias Fightin’ Jersey Band and played the oboe instrument. She had an absolute love for music. She pursued her career in becoming a dental assistant. She then worked for Whataburger for many years. She attended multiple concerts with her best friends. She had a love for rock n roll. She was the one to make the class reunions and get everything situated so that everyone had an awesome time. Despite whatever Belly was going through, she was a fighter and an adventurer. No matter the obstacles, she fought them bravely. Belinda loved to test her luck when she traveled and loved to play the “machinitas.” She took trips to Cancun, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kickapoo, South Padre Island and Las Vegas. She was a huge Texans fan and loved to go the San Antonio Spurs games. She was an active member on Every Juan Can Cook Facebook page and would post her delicious food from “Belly’s Kitchen.” Wherever Belinda went, it was to have a good, relaxing time.
Belinda was blessed with a large and loving family. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband of 23 years, together for 33 years, the absolute love of her life, Antonio “Tony” Garza III, one daughter Bianca Maria Garza, one granddaughter Jasmyn Erias, father Raul Guerra Jr., mother Gloria V. Maupin, and step-father Jack P. Maupin all of Falfurrias; sisters, Jennifer Garcia (Carlos Omar) of Alice, Sandra Ann Moralez (Omar) of Falfurrias, Selina Bueno (Joey) of Falfurrias, Mandy Ochoa (Rey) of Falfurrias, Bonita Troia (James) of Kingsville, Amorita Loera (Beto) of Falfurrias, Angie Guerra of Edinburg, and Ashley N. Maupin (Adam) of Falfurrias; brothers Jon Vasquez (Crystal),
Jack Maupin Jr. (Jennifer), and Matthew Maupin (Kateland) all of Corpus Christi. She also leaves behind numerous sister and brother-n-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her sisters in Christ, whom she loved so very much. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with the Lord.
A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on October 9, 2021 at The New Covenant Church, Falfurrias, Texas.
