Berta enjoyed watching soap operas, gardening working on crossword puzzles, and most importantly spending time with her beloved dog Chiquis and her family. Berta dedicated 20 hard working years to Levis Strauss and retired from her position in 2001.
She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe Garcia and Esperanza Puentes, siblings Ernesto Garcia, Raul Garcia, Rodolfo Garcia, Felipe Garcia, Jr., Aurora Jaramillo, Anita Garcia, and niece Diana Maldonado.
Berta is survived by her daughter Maria Estella (Ruben) Cardenas, grandchildren Alejandro Garcia and Areli Juleana Cardenas, great granddaughter Alianna Garcia, siblings Eva Cantu, Adela Maldonado, Adan Garcia, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM with a chapel service to follow at 7:00 PM. All services will conclude on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas.
