Bertha Sanchez Garza

Bertha was born on August 19, 1918 in Brownsville to Severiano and Rosa Sanchez. She worked at Interstate Fruit and Vegetable Co. as a bookkeeper until retiring in 1984.

Survivors include her daughters, Irma Granger Spade (Tom), of Michigan, Rosa Linda Cobarrubias (Pancho), of La Feria, and Teresa Garza of El Paso. Other survivors include her beloved grandchildren, Mari Cobarrubias, Jay Cobarrubias, Alyssa Cobarrubias Garza (Billy), David Garza (Marilyn), of California, the Granger grandchildren of Michigan, which include, Marcy Dwyer (Tim), Lisa Raeger (Larry), John Granger (Jodi), Mike Granger, and Cindy Granger.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Garza, her son, Daniel Humberto Garza, grandson Daniel Carlos Garza, her sisters Mary Guevara, Margarita Cisneros (Rogelio), Iris Sanchez, Oralia Lewis (Bobby), and brothers Martin Sanchez, Willie Sanchez, and Severiano Sanchez.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 pm at Heavenly Grace Chapel in La Feria, with a holy Rosary prayed at 7pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria on Monday, February 29th, at 10 am. The burial will follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
