It's with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Billy Joe Starkey, who departed life peacefully in his home on January 27, 2026 at the age of 66. Billy Joe Starkey was born on October 5, 1959 in Millersburg, Ohio, to Billy Boyd Starkey and Eva Yvoone Richardson.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Julie Starkey of Weslaco, Texas and Billy Starkey (Rebecca Cummings) of Effingham, Illinois; grandchildren, Kaelyn Starkey, Austin Vazquez, Madelyn (Maddie) Starkey, and Chase Starkey; great-grandchildren, River and Waylon; and siblings Gary Mays and Joyce Richmond.
In addition of his parents, Billy was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Germaine Starkey.
Some of his happiest moments were spent hunting and fishing alongside his best friend, Tracy Ewalt, and friends Mike High and Josh Fetter. He also had a deep love for music, often listening to Ted Nugent and Texas Hippie Coalition.
