Carlos Garcia Jr.

Carlos Garcia, 57, was called to his eternal home by the Lord Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born April 13, 1963 to the late Bernabe Garcia and Susana Morales de Garcia. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Garcia, and his best friend, Orlando Gamez.

Carlos leaves behind to cherish his memory his life-companion Alex Hernandez, daughter Tiffany Marie Calhoune, grandson Devyn Justice Hernandez Calhoune and numerous dear friends.

Carlos was a strong patriarch of his family, protector, provider, and a great father who was proud of his daughter, son and grandson. He was a great loving life-companion to Alex for 40 years. He strived to do his best to care for, guide and teach them. Carlos was a good friend, a person who would give his shirt off his back for a friend. His best friend Orlando would always say; "he has the roar of a lion but down deep inside he is a pussy cat".

Carlos has many joys in life-his loving family, great friends, antiquing (and junkin'), dancing, an occasional cold beer & good food, traveling to San Antonio, and watching guilty pleasure shows such as the Real Housewives chain and the ID channel.

Carlos was employed by Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville and his devotion to Nursing was admirable and evident by the 30+ years he spent working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11th from 5pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria. Due to current restrictions and safety of the family, the establishment's chapel will be limited to no more than 50 individuals at a time during visitation. All individuals must wear a face covering or mask and must maintain social distancing. In addition, individuals must refrain from handshaking and hugging. The family appreciates your compliance, patience and understanding.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be made in Carlos memory to the charity of your choice.
