Joyce’s love for her family was tremendous, and was returned by all. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn McGilvray (Russell), and Kristen Gary (Dennis); her son, David Hawkins (Kat); grandchildren, Anna McGilvray, Erin McGilvray, Devin Gary van Raaij (Sam), Jack Gary, Tanner Hawkins, and Tyler Hawkins; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hawkins Castro; nephew, Simon Castro; niece, Haley Castro Clark (Stuart); and grand-nephews, Hawkins Clark, and Cooper Clark.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe Tanner Hawkins; her daughter, Kelly Yung (Charles); her parents, Earl and Hazel Hill; and her brother, Kenneth Hill (Florence).
She also leaves behind many dear friends at John Knox Village in Weslaco, where she resided the last 12 years. She spent many happy hours playing Bridge, Hand and Foot, and 42 with her friends there.
Joyce will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
