Eulalio "Lalo" Sosa, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, community leader and veteran. Our cherished friend went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2024 at the age of 76 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for over 10 years.
Lalo, who was born in Pharr, Texas, on February 11, 1948, had a life characterized by dedication, love, and service. He served with pride in the United States Army as a Sergeant E5, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his nation. His service was marked by bravery, honor, and a steadfast sense of duty.
After serving in the military, Lalo worked at the bank for 35 years, where he would go on to be championed for his dedication to the community, impacting the livelihood of families and business owners. The community being the forefront of Lalo’s mission, he served as a proud school board member for La Feria ISD for 20+ years. He then served the City of La Feria as Mayor. The unwavering service of Mr. Lalo Sosa can also be established with the La Feria Lions Club, for over 20 years, made it his goal to serve the community and those who were in need. He built the organization and assured that it served the community of La Feria to its utmost potential.
Lalo was renowned for his strength. Not just in body, but also in character. He persevered through life's challenges with courage and resilience, always emerging stronger. His loving nature and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his parents Gustavo and Virginia Sosa. He is survived by his children, Klaudia (Robert) Guzman; Klarizza (Marco) Resendez; Lalo Luis Sosa; and the mother of his children Brenda Lou Presas as well as grandchildren; Vince, Adriano, Zacarias, Kamila, and Gabriella. Lalo is also survived by his sisters Sulema (Daniel) Belmares and Ismelda (Dimas) Gutierrez.
A visitation for Eulalio will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559. A chapel service will occur Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a burial at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572.
