He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margarita Tristan, they were known as “The lovebirds”; parents Diego and Herlinda Tristan; siblings Inez, Fernando, Jose, Antonio, Macario, Natividad Jimenez, and Juanita Magana, Fidel was the baby and the last of the Tristan family.
Fidel was a Eucharistic Minister along with his wife at our Lady of Assumption. They also helped maintain the church.
Fidel is survived by his children Alfredo Hernandez (Joe Wicker), Estela (Loyd) Richeson, Margarita (Juan) Cavazos, Fidel Jr (Rebecca) Tristan, Nancy (Cecilio) Atkinson, Diana (Eddy) Blowey, and Veronica (Jimmy) Salazar. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
We will miss his humor, encouragement and love of dancing. Fidel worked at Rainbo Baking Co. for 45 years. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening with his wife. The family would like to thank Dr. Juan Maldonado and Harlingen Nursing.
Visitation will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home on Thursday February 21, 2019 from 1 PM to 9 PM with a 7 PM rosary. The mass will take place at Our Lady of Assumption in Harlingen on Friday February 22, 2019 at 10 AM with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
