Gertrudis Castro Perea

After a long life of dedication to her family, to being a seamstress, which she loved, and to her gardening, Our Mother, Maria Gertrudis Castro Perez, has passed away at the age of 98 on April 6, 2018. Our mother was known as “Tula” to everyone. Llera, Tamaulipas, Mexico was her birth place. She grew up on the family ranch “Agua Fria” in the mountains dedicated to agriculture and livestock. Her parents were Modesto Castro Tovasr and Josefa Perez Bolanos. “Tula” grew up with nine siblings: Modesto, Pedro, Ignacio, Dionicio, Susana, Lucinda, Josefina, Antonia, and Alicia. She is survived by her sisters, Josefina and Alicia; daughters, Gloria (Cipriano) Galvan-Alexandro, Suzanna, Elsa (Roel) Delgado- Roel Jr., Ruby; and numerous nieces, nephews from Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, and United States. Visitation hours will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 from 1 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary said @ 7 pm in Heavenly Grace Chapel. Burial will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 @ 10 am in Heavenly Grace Memorial Park. We appreciate the services of Retama Manor Nursing Home and Dr. Stephanie Garcia for years of excellent care.
