Gilberto Aranda

Gilberto Aranda, aged 73, died peacefully and surrounded by family on December 9, 2016 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Gilberto was born September 1, 1943, in San Juan, Texas, the son of Salomon Aranda and Elena Flores.

Gilberto was selfless, caring, and loved by everyone. In 1971, Gilberto married the love of his life Ofelia Aranda, and together they lovingly had and raised three boys. His love of, and devotion to, his family drove him each day. Gilberto’s love, hard work, and sacrifice will always be appreciated by the loved ones he leaves behind. Gilberto was predeceased by his loving wife Ofelia Aranda on October 7, 2016. He is survived by his three sons, Jaime Aranda, Javier Aranda, Joel Aranda; two grandchildren, Joaquin Aranda, Sofia Hernandez; brothers, Ireneo Aranda, Salomon Aranda Jr., Ruben Aranda, Juan Aranda; and sisters Angelica DeLeon and Janie Garza. He was also predeceased by his sister Maria Elena Alvarado.

Viewing will be from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. service on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park with burial to follow.
