Gilberto Cruz Gonzalez Jr.

Gilberto loved to fish, hunt and most of all he loved to BBQ for his family and friends. They loved his salsa and couldn't get enough of it! He was a fanatic of all sports and you would catch him supporting his favorite teams. If he wasn't barbequing or watching a game, you knew he was playing beautiful music with the help of his saxophone or his guitar to his family whom he loved to spend his time with. Gilberto was an incredible father who created beautiful bonds with his children, even becoming the most important and best friend to his son Gilberto III. He will be greatly missed by all of those who love him.

Gilberto is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susana Gonzales; his children Erica Sue Gonzales; Gilberto Gonzales III; and Jo Ann Gonzales-Valle; his parents Gilberto Gonzalez Sr. and Amelia Cruz Gonzalez; his siblings Dora Ann Gonzales,Belinda Gonzalez, Cynthia Elvira Gonzalez, and Rebecca Gonzales; his grand-daughter April Alexis Leal-Gonzales.

Gilberto was preceded in death by his brother Ricardo Cruz Gonzales and his sister Anita Gonzales Rivera

A visitation for Gilberto will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A Veteran Honors Service will be conducted by Post 205 of Harlingen at 5:30 p.m. and a prayer service will occur Friday, January 26, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
