

Guadalupe Cruz Gonzalez, 78, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Harlingen, TX. Born on December 16, 1946, Guadalupe was a cherished member of his community, known for his caring and loving nature. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Gloria, and a father who left a lasting legacy through his children, Cristina, Osbaldo, Jaime, Robert, and Cynthia, as well as his grandchildren, Immanuel, Lina, and Faith.
Guadalupe served honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, a period during which he demonstrated his dedication and patriotism. Although specific details of his career were not provided, his life outside of work was rich with interests and hobbies, including fishing, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, playing lottery tickets, and BBQing a mean brisket. He also enjoyed beach sunsets, engaging in DIY projects, and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Gonzalez and Isabel Cruz, and his siblings, Angelica, Enrique, Antonio, and Pedro Gonzalez. Guadalupe's life was marked by his commitment to his family and friends, his generosity, and his ability to make those around him feel loved and cared for.
A viewing will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home on June 2, 2025, at 7pm. The funeral service will take place at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery on June 3, 2025, at 11am. Guadalupe's life will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew him as a loving husband, wonderful grandpa, the best father, and a great friend and brother. His memory will continue to inspire and influence the lives of many.
