Helvia Hernandez

She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helvia was dedicated to her family and religion immensely. She loved spending time with her family and having breakfast with her sons and grandchildren.

She was a social butterfly as she was always sparking up a conversation with neighbors, friends, and anyone she would meet. She enjoyed birdkeeping and teaching them tricks, going out and shopping for antiques, and reading her bible every morning. Helvia was a devoted servant of the Lord and never missed a chance to teach his word to her grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face that would light up a room and never hesitated to help anyone. She truly had a heart of gold and will never be forgotten.

Helvia is predeceased by her son Domingo G. Hernandez, her mother and father Angelita Zamora and Raymundo Hernandez, her brothers Raymond Hernandez, Rodolfo Hernandez, Roberto Hernandez, and her sister Lydia Guerra. She is survived by her husband Domingo Hernandez, her sons Juan Hernandez (Cindy), Martin Hernandez (Gracie), and Jesus Hernandez (Victoria), her sisters Gloria Rodriguez, Elida Castro, and Estella Diaz. She has eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren who will all miss her tremendously.

Pallbearers will be her sons Juan Hernandez Sr. and Martin Hernandez, and her grandsons Juan J. Hernandez Jr., Jacob Delgado, Jesus J. Hernandez, Jr., and Isaiah Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Xavier Hernandez and Elias Ybarra, Jr.

A visitation for Helvia will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A chapel service will occur Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A bural will occur Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 E Business 83, La Feria, Texas 78559.
