He went peacefully between one breath and the next at 7:10AM with his loving wife at his bedside. He left behind his wife and his children. My dad was a professional musician his entire life. I remember my dad, mom, little brother and I all packing up the car and heading out to his gigs at the island. We would help set up all of his equipment and then my mom, brother, and I would walk along the beach and collect shells and return later to catch the tail end of his gig. I remember people dancing, laughing, singing along, and enjoying their time while my dad played on the stage. He played guitar and keyboard and would sing his heart out. He loved it. It was his niche, his passion. And he loved us. His family. He was a great dad, and a church going man. He went to Bible college and worked at many churches. He was usually the leader of music and worship and he taught us everything he knew. I remember having late night talks with him about God and Heaven. He was always confident about his faith and that shaped the way our faith was formed. He did right by us and we miss him a lot. Our home isn’t the same without him here. I love you dad, and I miss you so much. I have comfort knowing that you are in Heaven with everyone that passed before you. I will see you again some day. There will be no service, but he is home again with his family in a spot that overlooks the backyard where he can watch the birds and feel the sun.
