

John R. Colomb, age 82, passed away peacefully at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, TX, on November 14, 2025. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Colomb, whom he married on June 6, 2011.
John was born on January 29, 1943, in Richford, Vermont. He grew up in Saco, Maine, and lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bella Vista, Arkansas, and La Feria, Texas.
John had a distinguished career as a project manager for Eaton Corporation, where he worked on assignments across the United States, as well as in China, India, Japan, Scotland, and Germany. After retiring in 2001, he dedicated his time to improving his community. Notably, he secured a $350,000 grant for flood control improvements in Green Bay South, La Feria. He also assisted an attorney with grant writing.
In his retirement, John enjoyed traveling across the country in his RV, indulging in his favorite hobby of fishing.
He is survived by his siblings: Owen Colomb of Alna, Maine; Keith Colomb of Columbia, New Hampshire; and Shirley Wells of Westbrook, Maine. His sister, Peggy Reed, is deceased.
John's children include Ben Colomb of Waterboro, Maine; Penny Colomb of Alfred, Maine; and Janet Wiggins of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica White of Biddeford, Maine; Ben Jr. Colomb of Waterboro, Maine; and Kyle and Blake Wiggins of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
In accordance with his wishes, John's ashes will be spread at Evans Notch, located on the border of New Hampshire and Maine, a beloved camping destination for him and his family.
Services are under the guidance of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Crematory and Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, a Dignity Memorial provider. Services are under the direction of Daniel Roberto Gomez, Crispin Garza FD/EMB, Julissa Maldonado FD, and Hailey Rutkowski, FD/EMB.
