Everyone who knew Joe felt his big heart and giving nature. He was a faithful brother and member of The Light of the World Church where he served faithfully for 43 years. Brother Joe was always active in church activities, especially the ventas de comida and cooking for the Casa Grande. He will be missed especially by his five children and five grandchildren, with whom he spent countless hours making them laugh, barbecuing, teaching them how to fish and catching jaibas, being silly and playing, jamming out to 80s Rock and Roll, Maná, tejano music, giving them consejos de la fe, and numerous other activities. He was a huge fan of The Dallas Cowboys - "How 'Bout Them Boys!" Joe goes by many names: Brother Joe, Hermano Joe, Ramiro, Ram, mijo, Dad, Daddy, Colchadito, Tio Joe, Grampa Joe, El Tejano, Nine-Toe Joe, suegro, and big brother. He loved his family reunions, a time he was grateful to connect with his brothers and sisters, his children and their families, and his wife and her family. He was a father figure to all, and held a special place in his heart for his nephews and nieces, always calling them "No good trolls!" with a smile on his face. Joe loved being with his family and would always find the time to throw some barbeque chicken and fajitas on the pit, he loved storytelling about the good old days, singing karaoke, feeding his family, bragging about his kids, and giving testimonies of his faith and the Election - the list goes on and on. Joe was also a dedicated and hard worker with his business United Pallet Recycler of South Texas (UPR) - "Stacking 'Em High, Selling 'Em Low!" He loved spending time and hosting events with the brethren from The Light of the World Church, whom he considered family.
A celebration of his life will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 White Ranch Rd., La Feria TX, on Saturday, November 26th from 9 a.m. until midnight, and the Farewell worship service will be on Sunday, November 27th from 10 a.m and burial will be at 3 p.m.
The family would like to say God pay you, Dios le pague to our family, friends, and brethren from The Light of The World Church for their support and prayers.
