Jose Angel Valdez Jr.

Jose Angel Valdez Jr., age 53, passed away on August 16, 2026. Born on June 14, 1973, Jose Angel is remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew him. Jose Angel resided in San Antonio, Texas.

As the eldest of five siblings, he proudly paved the way as the first to graduate from college. Driven by a lifelong curiosity for how things worked, he earned degrees in robotics and diesel heavy truck technology. He was a truly gifted problem-solver with a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand and capable of fixing just about anything—from simple household items to massive heavy vehicles.

He found true joy in life's simple pleasures: traveling to new places, spending quiet days fishing, and hosting barbecues for his friends. Those gatherings, filled with good food, endless laughter, and the sounds of rock, country, and mariachi music—especially his favorites, José Alfredo Jiménez and Vicente Fernández—held some of his happiest memories. Above all, he cherished his family. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of taking life as it comes, never letting the little things weigh him down, and always choosing to focus on the good. He will forever remind us to enjoy the moment, laugh often, and carry forward the bright, positive outlook that made him so incredibly special.

He is survived by his loving mother, Irma A. Valdez Amador; his brothers and sister, Jorge Valdez Sr., Agustín Valdez (Christina Valdez), Esmeralda Valdez, and Ricardo Valdez; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Valeria Janelli Valdez (Victor Nava), Adrian, Ximena, Brianna Aolani Valdez, Jorge Valdez Jr. (Tonancy Malinaly Trejo), Olivia, Xavier, Sebastián, Dylan, and Arbërie.

Jose was preceded in death by his father, Jose Angel Valdez Gallegos Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Juan Valdez Córdoba and Belén Gallegos Villalobos; and his maternal grandparents, Liborio Amador Sánchez and Rode Rodríguez Valdez.

Visitation will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559, on August 23, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Rosary will be held on August 23, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Chapel Service will be held on August 24, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 Business 83, La Feria, Texas 78559, US, on August 24, 2026, at 11:00 am.
