Josefina was born in San Benito, Texas. She lived for a short time in Corpus Christi before making her home in La Feria, Texas, where she shared many cherished years with her husband and sons.
Josefina was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought great joy to her life. She will always be remembered for the love and care she gave to her family.
A longtime Dallas Cowboys fan, Josefina enjoyed cheering on her favorite team and sharing those moments with her loved ones.
Josefina is survived by her sons, Rudy Bush (Enedina) and Kenneth Leroy Rice Jr. (Judy); her grandchildren, Priscilla A. Coronado, Kristen N. Camacho, Nicholas A. Bush, Kenneth L. Rice III, Anthony D. Bush, Tammy Salazar (Rick), Scott Trevino (Marilyn), and Candace Aranda; her niece, Dalila Guerra; and her great-grandchildren, Alaina, Alexis, and Aria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leroy Rice Sr.; her parents, Hortencia Zavala and Delfino Garcia; and her sister, Ramona Guerra.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her provider of 20 years, Enedina Bush. They would also like to express their gratitude to her neighbors who checked in on her throughout the years, as well as her close friend, Joane Danforth, for their kindness, friendship, and care.
Josefina will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
