Leo Charles Kennedy

Leo C. Kennedy, 95, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, TX. He was born on June 27, 1929, in Boston, MA, to John J. Kennedy and Florence George Kennedy.

Leo was an honored veteran and the eldest member of VFW Post 2410 in San Benito, TX, where he enjoyed dancing and singing karaoke with his many friends. He lived an adventurous life full of travel and was known for his fun-loving spirit, living each day to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Dorothy A. Kennedy; his daughter Cheryl Kennedy; and his siblings Florence Virgadamo, John Kennedy Jr., Lorraine Trickett, Charles Kennedy, Richard Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Leo will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. Following the visitation will be a military honors and burial at 1:00 PM at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572.
