

Linda Smtih Snaples, a life-long Valley resident, passed away on December 5, 2020 after a sudden illness. She was born in Weslaco, Tx, December 2, 1945 graduated from Edcouch Elsa High School, and lived most of her life in Harlingen, Tx. She was a long time employee of the Harligen ISD, as a principal’s secretary at Stuart Place Elementary, and Vela and Gutierrez Middle Schools.
An avid reader and dog lover, she managed to travel across the country with friends and family. She was active in the local Square Dance community with her husband Noble, a caller, and her parents owned the old Skylark Motel in Harlingen from 1968 until the late 1990s.
She was preceded in death by Cotton and Helen Smith, her parents, and Noble Lee Snaples, her husband of 44 years. She is survived by her sons Dennis and Lee and Shawn Snaples, wife, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be Saturday, December 12, at the Cowboy Church of the Valley, Santa Rosa, Tx, at 10 a.m. It will also be live-streamed via Facebook for those unable to attend. In Lieu of flowers, Linda asked for donations to Donjasdogs.com, a no-kill shelter here in the Valley.
