Lionel Saldana passed from this life and into his eternal one on November 22, 2018. He leaves behind his wife, Christene, his daughters, Ashley (Orlando) Ramirez, Nicolle Limas and Joella (Alejandro) Olvera. Leo also leaves behind his precious princess, granddaughter Cora Lynn Limas and grandsons Elijah V. Limas, Josiah N. and Jeremiah A. Ramirez. Leo is also survived by his beloved parents Guadalupe and Betty Saldana as well as his only sister Leana (Joey) Farias. He was reunited in heaven with his brother Noel Saldana.
Anyone who knew Leo would say the same thing, he was a good man, a good husband, a good provider, a good father and the best grandfather. His girls were his pride and joy and his grandbabies were his most precious possessions. Leo loved football, fishing and the New York Giants. The only thing he loved more was his family. Whenever he was ready to take the grandkids out for fun, he’d say, “lets roll!”. Sometimes a fun day with Christene and the grandkids would be a day at the splash pad or the time he bought super hero shirts for everyone and spent the day at Breckinridge Park. Leo was a no-frills kind of man of few words but he made a big impact on many lives. Many which he may never know.
Two days before Leo passed, his wife, Christene, thanked Leo for being a good husband, provider, father and grandfather. She thanked him for proving that love exists and that she was worthy of love. She told Leo that he saved her and her girls. Leo’s reply was that they saved him. He said he was in a bad place and they changed all that for him. And so, two souls who saved each other made vows to love each other until his death has parted them. Leo will watch over them until they meet again.
