

Lorenzo Sanchez Campos was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24th 2022 at the age of 93. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and brother. Lorenzo was born to Bartolo Perez Campos and Juliana Sanchez Campos on April 1st, 1929 in McFaddin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, mother, and siblings: Felipe, Maria, Cecilio, Teodoro, and Jesus.
Lorenzo leaves behind his wife of more than 50 years Sixta Ibarra Campos, who he shared two wonderful children with, Violeta Campos and Hugo Campos(Joann Reyes). Along with his 4 grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Krystalinda Martinez, Karynna Martinez(Orlando Delgado), Jayden Campos, Braylon Berlanga. In addition he leaves behind his brother Roberto Campos Alonzo(Esperanza C. Pemelton) and sister Antonia Alonzo and numerous nieces and nephews all who will miss him dearly.
Lorenzo loved his hometown of La Feria, Texas. He managed El Chaparral on Main Street for several years. He bravely served our country with the United States Army in the Korean War as a Tec 5. He retired after happily working with La Feria ISD for many years. He was truly a fighter, he beat cancer twice and remained in remission for years. Lorenzo loved spending his time cruising in his car all the way into his 90s. He enjoyed fishing, pecan pie and all the Sprite and Big Red he could get his hands on. Most of all he enjoyed spending his free time with his family eating a bucket of chicken from KFC. He will be remembered as a gentle, strong, and courageous man who was loved by so many.
Pallbearers include: Hugo Campos, Robert Campos Alonzo, Douglas Graham, Robert Martinez, Arturo Guevara and Arturo Guevara Jr., and Guadalupe Martinez Sr.
A visitation for Lorenzo will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, . A funeral mass/ service will occur Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church, La Feria, TX with Burial to follow at 11:00 AM at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
