It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Longoria Arreguin, age 80, on March 12, 2025. Maria was reunited with her beloved husband, Jose Carrizales, as well as her parents, Lily Evans and Anibar Longoria, and her cherished chihuahua, Chispa.
Maria was a woman full of life, always bringing joy to those around her. Her vibrant personality, quick wit, and infectious laughter will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She loved to joke, sing, dance, and listen to music, especially songs by Pepe Maldonado. Her days were often filled with the simple pleasures of playing chalupa, watching Mexican movies, and more recently, enjoying old westerns on the Grit channel.
Maria had a deep love for animals, and her family fondly recalls a funny story from her childhood, when she lovingly fed a bottle to a lamb. Her love for food was no less passionate—she could eat cheese enchiladas every day and never tire of them!
She is survived by her sisters, Dolores "Lola" Echavarria (Gilbert +) and Adela Munoz (Robert), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins.
Maria’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She was a shining example of joy, love, and devotion to her family.
Services are entrusted to Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas.
