Maria Del Socorro Lopez

Maria Del Socorro “Coco” Lopez, 69, a pillar of the San Benito community, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following a brief illness. Born on March 4, 1956, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Coco dedicated her life to supporting her community’s needs for formal dresses, cheer uniforms, and custom alterations at her store, Jessica’s Dresses.

In addition to being revered by her community, Coco was incredibly loved by her extensive family of siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is survived by her husband Abel Sr, their three children, Abel Jr. (Milly), Jessica (Adam), and Alexis (Victoria), and six grandchildren, Cameron, Elenie, Anabel, Emma, Miah, and Joaquin.

A visitation for Coco will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and rosary will occur Monday, May 5, 2025 at 7:00 PM, both at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX. A public memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:00am in St. Benedict’s Church, 351 S. Bowie St, San Benito, TX. An internment service in the mausoleum will occur on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00am Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX.
