Maria Magdalena Soto

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Arthur R. Soto, her parents Severino R. Medellin & Eva S. Medellin, her sister Elida Torres, and her brothers Hector and Ernesto Medellin.

Mary was known for her deep faith in the Lord and was an active member of Primera Iglesia Bautista of La Feria. She was involved in missions with WMU, and taught Sunday school at her church. Mary was an insurance secretary at both McAfee and State Farm Insurance but was proudly known as the church secretary at First Baptist Church La Feria for over ten years. In addition to working as the church secretary, she volunteered at their after-school program Kid's Korner and Caring Closet. In her spare time. Mary loved taking photos of her family at all occasions. She could always be counted on to attend all school functions including sporting events, choir concerts, band concerts, and dance recitals. You name it, she was there. Mary will always be remembered for her love of God, family, and most importantly her daughter Kristina.

Mary is survived by her only child, Mary Kristina (Roland) Leija, sisters Lilia (Roy) Longoria, Irma Quintero, Ofelia (Oscar) Ozuna, and Sally Fernandez of La Feria, TX: sister-in-laws, Carmela (Benny Joe) Luvano, Lynda Gonzales, and Rebecca Soto of Tucson, AZ. Mary is survived by numerous cousins, nieces. nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces, and great great nephews. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mary on Friday, April 11, 2025, at First Baptist Church La Feria. A visitation will be held from 9:00am - 11:00am; followed by a service at 11:00am.
