Best coach out there, I remember when I had hurt my knee and I was in so much pain, I kept telling him I didn’t wanna play anymore and that I wanted to quit because I felt like my season was over and he told me to stop and think for a second and said everything would be okay and to work hard through my journey and do everything I’m supposed to do because he believed that I was gonna recover and come back stronger and be an even better player. His words helped me through my recovery 

The Loera family is truly grateful for all Coach Burbach taught us.  He will be greatly missed.

I had the opportunity to be taught by him during my elementary years in Wilson Elementary, he was a great teacher I remember the project he had for us one time which was figuring out a way that you should protect an egg from breaking,  as it was being dropped from the roof top of the school. I was all excited cause my egg didn't crack since I had it molded it in clay. I even had the pleasure to have his sweet wife Dawn as my teacher as well I remember the days he would go visit her class just to see her and all our class would love to make her blush as we  chanted shame , shame.. we knew they had a loving connection you could see how happy in love they both were and continued.  My sincere condolences to your family. May God bless your family in this time of need,  Heaven has gain an angel  that touched many lives and filled them with special memories forever.

Mr. Burbach was my math teacher back in Gutierrez Middle School one thing great about him is he was an awesome teacher that made sure everyone could understand his class and be fair to one another. Which yielded to his character and personality hope he's found peace and my condolences to the family.

Mr. Burbach was my 6th grade teacher.  Math, at the time, was my favorite subject so him and I got along great. Because of him I know the square root of pie is 3.1415926 which was the exact length of numbers he knew. He new I was good in math so after 6th grade he suggest I be promoted to 7th grade pre-ap math because he felt I was smart enough to handle it. He was wrong because I failed misserably! But at least he believed in me. He is the reason why soccer was and still is my favorite sport. He taught me everything he knew. I appreciated him so much as an educator, I wanted him to follow me to high school when it was time for me to leave Gutierrez. My dad wasn't around much so I would say I definitely looked up to him as a father figure. I do remember him saying he had wanted to eventually teach high school, I wish he would've been able to achieve that. Like each of his students past, present, and future, we eventually grow up, move on, become distant. I wish I would've kept in touch because I had thought so highly of him. this news breaks my heart and I will never forget the way he molded and shaped the young lives of our generation.

The Burbach family, the HCISD family, and the community at large, have been blessed by this exemplary life so passionately lived and so well invested to the benefit of others. I extend my thoughts of peace and prayers of comfort for the Burbach family, and for all those so deeply impacted by this loss. 

Mr. Burbach was my 4th grade teacher at Wilson Elementary and was an extremely stern teacher and treated us as the world would treat us, with little to no sympathy and we responded, in turn, as world beaters.  I remember his old "race" car and how cool it was.  I remember the multiplication table tests we would take on a daily basis.  I remember the turtles and their large habitat that filled a corner of the class room.  I remember him holding me accountable for getting into a fight and removing me from the volleyball team.  He was a man of great character and strength.  Unwaivering in his beliefs.  A man I will continue to emulate as long as I teach and breathe.  Thank you sir.  It was an honor.
