Mildred (Mimie) McNabb, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2026 just short of her 98th birthday. She was born September 4, 1928 to Jacob and Flora Jones in Leary, Texas.
Her larger-than life personality carried her throughout a fulfilling life. Her passion for people was infectious, and she never met a stranger. She was an avid golfer and gardener in her younger years and always a loyal and loving friend to all who knew her. Many may remember Mimie from her years managing “Mimie’s Sales”. She was a devoted wife for 46 years to Vernon McNabb (Dad) who predeceased her in 2016.
We will miss you more than words can express and mourn your absence, but we rejoice in your reunion in heaven with Dad and your grandson Wade Patterson. To God Be the Glory, great things he hath done.
Per her wishes, no funeral will be held. Instead, Mimie’s and Dad’s ashes will be mixed and scattered privately by family.
Special thanks to caregivers Annie Cantu and Leticia Heredia who cared for Mimie in the last years of her life. And a very special thanks to Jose (Joe) Flores, who supported and assisted Mimie daily after Dad’s death and especially during her final journey with dementia.
Survived by daughters, Bonnie Patterson of Plano, and Bettie Landes of Kingwood, stepdaughter Marla Turner of Lubbock, and sister Lou Bost of Midland, and their families.
Rest in peace, Mimie, your smile will never fade.
