Born on December 21, 1989, in Harlingen, Texas, to Homero De La Garza Jr. and Patricia Ann
De La Garza, Natasha brought a spark into the world from the very beginning. Growing up, she
was known for her strong, unmistakable personality and her deep love for creating art. There was
always something in her hands—a sketchbook, a pencil, an idea she needed to express.
She graduated from La Feria High School and continued to grow her skills in technology, always
curious and eager to learn more. But above everything she accomplished, Natasha was most
proud of the way she could express her heart through her drawings. Her art was her voice, her
comfort, and her way of connecting with the people she loved. She also treasured her beloved
Pixie and Lily, who were truly her babies and a huge part of her joy and daily life.
Her family and friends will remember her for her strength, her honesty, and the creative soul that
shaped everything she touched. Natasha had a unique way of seeing the world—bold,
imaginative, and unapologetically her own—and she shared that perspective through every
drawing, every story, and every moment she spent with the people she loved. She made others
feel understood and inspired simply by being herself.
Natasha’s gift for creating art in all its forms brought joy to everyone around her. Whether she
was sketching for hours, experimenting with new ideas, or getting lost in one of her favorite
video games, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her presence was a constant reminder
to be authentic, to be brave, and to find beauty in unexpected places.
She leaves beautiful memorable memories to cherish by her sisters, Lakisha Lyanne De La Garza
and Krystal Ann (Robbie) Cruz; and nieces, Kaley Ann, Mallory Annevay; and nephew, Derek
Matthew Cruz; her parents, Homero De La Garza Jr. and Patricia Ann De La Garza; her maternal
grandparents, Ramon and Anita Ortiz Jr; her maternal great-grandmother, Josefa H Najar; and
numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Homero De La Garza III; her great-uncle, Ruben
Ortiz; her great-aunt, Yolanda Ortiz Garza; her aunt, Norma Briseno; her grandmother, Simona
Aguilar De La Garza; her great-grandparents; Ramon Ortiz and Lydia Castro Ortiz; and her great-grandfather,
Fernando Najar Jr.
We are deeply grateful of the extraordinary nurses who became part of our family through
Natasha’s life. Marlene, her first night nurse from age 11 to 21, lovingly spoiled her in the best
way- if Natasha wanted something, Marlene made sure she had it. Even after moving to daytime
hours, she remained by her side until her passing in 2018. Janie Miller, her first day nurse
beginning when Natasha was 11, cared for her through 21 and later returned to us, becoming a
constant source of strength, skill, and comfort. She was Natasha’s “MacGyver”, able to fix
anything and always willing to help. Natasha trusted her completely, often calling to ask what
she should do when something didn’t feel right. Diana Hernandez, originally her brother’s nurse,
became Natasha’s nurse from 2015 to 2025. Close in age, they bonded over shared interest,
Thursday take-out traditions, and moments spent setting up Christmas trees or taking pictures
with her beloved Pixie. And this year, in 2025, Jessica joined us and immediately formed a
beautiful connection with Natasha. They shared the same tastes in movies and music, filling the
room with nonstop talking and laughter. Each of these incredible women cared for Natasha with
devotion, joy, and love. They were not just nurses-they were family.
We will miss our daughter, Natasha, more than words can ever express. We love her with all our
hearts. She was incredibly smart the person all of us went to whenever we had problems with our
phones, from grandpa and grandma to her dad, me, and her uncle Ray. Her uncle Ray would
spoil her at times, even paying her when she fixed something for him. I cherished watching our
shows together and playing Call of Duty Mobile by her side, and we loved hearing her laugh
while playing Minecraft with her sister Krystal. Their joy was contagious. Her baby sister,
Lakisha, was always there to help her, and Natasha would praise her and give her little gifts to
show her gratitude. She had so many beautiful qualities, and we deeply admired her strength. We
also want to thank my mom for always being there for Natasha and for all of us-no matter the
time, if we called, she came. When I was in the hospital for months, she stayed and cared for
Natasha with love and devotion. We will miss every day we spent together. We began our days
with her and ended them with her, and she will forever be a part of our hearts.
