Patrick John Lannen

Patrick John Lannen, known to friends and family as Pat, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on March 5, 1953, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Patricia Schenbricker and John Lannen.

Pat dedicated many years of his life to hard work and service, working as a bus driver for the DeWitt School District. Before that, he was employed with Aspen Tree Service and The Rock Island Packing House. After retiring, Pat and his beloved wife of 50 years made their home in Harlingen, Texas, where he found joy in cooking, watching old westerns, and cheering on his favorite wrestling matches.

Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy; his parents, Patricia and John; and his sister, Nillie Johnson. He is survived by his loving children, Joseph Lannen and Christina Layton and her husband, Terry; his siblings, Katherine Melia, Deborah Bergheger, Donald Lannen, and Michael Lannen; his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dakota, Abigail, Kyle, and Sydney; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah and Aurora. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Pat.
