Pedro, fondly known as Pete, was born to Juan and Felicitas Silguero on September 10, 1947 in the small town of Santa Rosa, Texas. Pete attended Santa Rosa High School and later completed his high school education in California, where he started a family.
Pete was drafted to the United States Army in 1967, where he served in the Vietnam war under the 25th Infantry Division as a tanker with the Special Forces until he was honorably discharged in 1969. Pete was a true patriot and served his country proudly. He didn’t speak much about his time in the Army, but he participated in Veteran associated events and gladly welcomed any conversation with a fellow veteran.

She joined him in California, and after 10 years together, they returned to Santa Rosa, Texas, where he would live for his remaining years. He and Estella were married on October 1, 2011, at the Elvis Presley Chapel in Las Vegas, upon Estella’s request, Pete happily agreed to give her the wedding of her dreams with their children and grandchildren present. Pete and Estella enjoyed traveling and dancing together along his favorite hobbies of fishing, barbecuing, and casino trips.

We are deeply grateful for the time we spent with him, for the laughter, we shared, and for the life lessons he passed on to us. He was a remarkable man, and we will miss him dearly. As we say farewell, we hope to honor our father by living a life that reflects his values, of love, compassion, and selflessness.
The family has scheduled a memorial service for Pete to be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572.
