Our beautiful loving mother went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ after passing away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 14th 2025. Petra G. Flores was born on May 13,1936 in Harlingen, Texas to Crecensio Gonzalez and Anastacia Ozuna, along with her four siblings.
Raised as a farmer's daughter in her hometown of Primera, Texas, Petra grew up surrounded by cousins, aunts, and uncles that lived close by. As a young girl after helping around her home and farm, she would take part in innocent fun dancing with her cousins. She grew up loving to dance, cause don't you know there was a spring of music in her soul, a colorful world you eventually came to see in her garden. One day, at a young age, Petra began working at the local country store across her home. It was there where she would meet the love of her life, Celestino Flores.
The two love birds would eventually marry soon after his return from the military, but not before the many love letters that crossed the oceans. Over the years, she and her husband would raise a family of four and would teach and show them how to create a strong Christian foundation. Bible schools and Sunday church were always a great part of our lives. She loved the Lord and truly walked her life beside him. She helped with the church missionettes and took part in many church activities always giving and helping. Her children would be her pride and joy, she taught them to fear the Lord, to seek him, to trust him, but most importantly that He was a loving and forgiving Lord.
She loved her family, extended family and friends and she would give all that she could to create fond memories of family gatherings, beautiful Christmases and celebrations, and she would make sure that each one was special.
Our mother was an amazing mother and had an unbelievable inner strength that not even the hard times would shatter. She was tenacious and taught us such wonderful things, gave us strength and made sure you never forgot the Lord. Our mom colored our world beyond belief, and her values will be forever etched in our hearts. She left us to be strong, protected, loved, and beyond blessed because to have her and our dad was the greatest honor of our lives. She loved us all so very much, and we will miss her dearly everyday. We all know she now joins our dad, the love of her life, and is at rest in our Lord's arms.
She is survived by her children Susan Flores, Eloy Flores, Fermin Flores, and Gilbert Flores, and their families which includes grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Seferino Gonzalez, sister Clementina Gonzalez, nieces, nephews and countless extended family including those from San Antonio and beyond whom she loved dearly.
As she always said " Te Quiero Mucho", " I Love You So Much" and "Hasta Mañana", ''Until Tomorrow''
