Ramon Coronado is survived by his children, Debora Coronado Garza, husband Rudy Garza Jr, Ramon C Coronado, Maria D. Coronado and Melanie Kulaga, grandchildren Joseph Coronado, Yesenia Coronado, Karina Coronado, Victoria Garza, Gabriela Garza, Rudy M. Garza and great-granddaughter Lilliahnna Rae Coronado, siblings, Soledad Coronado Terraza, Noe Coronado and wife Delia Coronado, Ricardo Coronado and wife Bertha Coronado, Carmen Coronado Hernandez and husband Apolonio Hernandez, Ramiro Coronado and wife Ramona Coronado, Aurora Coronado Rivera husband Jose Rivera, Jose Antonio Coronado and wife Mary Ann Coronado, Maria Elena Coronado Garza, Juan Coronado, Isabel Coronado Marx husband Tim Marx . He is preceded in death by his loving wife Genoveva Garcia Coronado.
Ramon Coronado Jr. was born on March 25, 1927 on a farm a few miles west of Los Fresnos, TX to Ramon Coronado and Isabel Garcia Coronado. In 1945 was drafted into the Military/Army served in the First Armored Division for WWII and Korea. He was awarded the Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendant for Meritorious Service while in Korea. He returned to USA and worked as a Harlingen Postal Carrier. He married Genoveva Garcia Coronado, whom he met in 1959. Over a period of time, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Ramon set about teaching them the importance of respect, responsibility and determination. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, driven Father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Ramon was a loving father of all trades. He was a generous and a dedicated individual who loved to talk about the current events and politics. He was passionate about his family and making sure we kept our family history alive. He was dedicated to his immediate and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N Whit Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX on November 19, 2018 from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be on November 20, 2018 at 10:00 am burial to follow. Ramon will be laid to rest at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Deacon Catarino Villanveva will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ramon’s life. Condolences can be sent to dignitymemorial.com.
