

Rene Ratliff, age 65, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Rene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He cherished time spent with his family, especially hosting backyard BBQs and making memories with his beloved grandchildren. He found joy in feeding his animals, hunting, fishing, and relaxing with a good western cowboy movie. Rene was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and loved listening to his good ole country music.
Known for his honesty and strong work ethic, Rene was a hardworking man who would help anyone he could. His generous heart and steady presence made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Rene is survived by his loving wife, Anita Ratliff.
He leaves behind his children:
• Rene (Veronica) Ratliff Jr., and his grandchildren: Rene Ratliff III, Elizabeth Ratliff, Rhianna Ratliff, Arielle Ratliff, Logan Ratliff; and great-grandchild, Gael Ratliff.
• Roy (Cindy) Ratliff, and his grandchildren: Maria Guadalupe Ratliff, Brianna Ratliff, Javeigh Alyana Ratliff, Janessa Ratliff, Hannah Marie Ratliff, Maxamus Ratliff, Zoie Ratliff, Roy “Duke” Ratliff Jr., and Juliette Ratliff; and great-grandchildren: Octavio, Azairam, and Kizany Martinez.
• Reynaldo (Uruemuesiri) Ratliff, and is grandchildren: Reynaldo Ratliff Jr., Gabriela Nicole Ratliff,; and great-grandchild, Reighlyn Rayne Ratliff.
• Anna Renee (Ervey) Ratliff, and his grandchild: Miguel Angel Loredo Jr.
Rene is also survived by his siblings: Rebecca (Marcial) Ratliff, Melissa Ratliff, Jo Anne (Danny) Rodriguez, Mary Ratliff, Wilma (Jorge) Ratliff, Daisy Ratliff, Roy (Trini) Ratliff, Richard Ratliff, Rodolfo Ratliff, and Jaine Ratliff.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria G. Carriaga; his father, Jesus Ricardo Ratliff; and his brothers, Richard Ratliff (Mary Lou), Reynaldo Ratliff, and Frankie Ratliff.
Visitation for Rene will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas. Services for Mr. Ratliff will conclude after the visitation.
