Rene Farias Taguilas

Rene Farias Taguilas passed away July 30, 2023 in La Feria, Texas at the age of 66. He graduated from La Feria High School, c/o 1976. He worked his entire life in the business his father built, Taguilas Septic Tanks, until his father passed and then was later known as Septic Services by R&R, whom he operated with his sister, Rosalinda Taguilas. He was known by many and made friends everywhere he went, especially his daily trips to Stripes for coffee and lottery scratch offs. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and staying home eating ice cream and watching the Discovery Channel or National Geographic.

Rene was born January 11, 1957 in Mercedes, Texas to Israel C. Taguilas Sr. and Margarita Farias Taguilas. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Hector Taguilas and Marcelo Ortiz. Left to treasure Rene’s memory is his loving wife, Ana, children, Francisco Antonio Vega, Sarah Marie, Lupita, Amanda Renee Taguilas and Bethany Ann Rowe (Keynath) and grandsons Andrew Ryan Taguilas and Walters Xavier Rowe; his siblings Israel Taguilas Jr. (Deborah), Rosalinda Taguilas, Yolanda T. Young and Nilda Taguilas and many nieces and nephews.

The Taguilas Family will welcome relatives and friends on Sunday August 6th, 2023 from 2-11 pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park in La Feria. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 7th, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria. Following the service, Rene will be laid to rest at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La Feria.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joseph David (JD) Leal, Israel Taguilas Jr., Eric Rene Peralez, DavidIsrael (Izzy) Valenzuela, Eric Loya, Reynaldo Elizondo, Daniel Elizondo Jr, Christopher James (CJ) Loya and Eric Bodie Loya, Andrew Ryan Taguilas, and Israel Lee Taguilas will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Rene was a hardworking family man and made many friends throughout his life. He was “BAD TO THE BONE”. He will be truly missed.
