Richard Henry Elizondo, 69, of Harlingen, Texas passed away at his residence on Monday, July 13, 2020. He was born on November 15, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is preceded in death by his infant, Rena Heaven Elizondo, his parents Henry Raymond Elizondo and Nicolasa Orozco Salinas (Ignacio Salinas). He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Monica D. Elizondo, daughter Gina Marie Elizondo of San Antonio, Texas, son Richard Anthony (Belen) Elizondo of Corpus Christi, TX, son Victor Ryan Elizondo of Corpus Christi, Texas, daughters Nina Marie (Kristopher) Plummer of San Antonio, Texas, Angelina (Joe) Garcia of Harlingen, Texas, Melinda (Rogelio) Alaniz of Pearland, Texas, Amy Lea (Anthony) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Reina Heaven Elizondo of Houston, Texas, sisters Nora (Ray) Rubio of Corpus Christi, Texas, Linda (Guadalupe) Saldivar of Taft, Texas, Barbara (Jose) Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas and brother Larry Sr (Annabelle) Elizondo of Corpus Christi, Texas, sixteen grandchildren as well as five great-grandchildren.
Richard’s legacy will forever be remembered for his passion for Baseball and his proud accomplishment in taking the Corpus Christi Boys Club Baseball Team to the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, New Mexico in 1976, where they celebrated victory!
With his biggest supporter and companion, Monica, he humbly and successfully founded his financial business services as President of Employee Retirement Services (ERS) in 1996 where he provided financial services to his clients from El Paso to Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. His passion for his services was to “Make a Difference” in people’s lives. He was surrounded by a beautiful, loyal team of Financial Planners that were well groomed to be his successors! His legacy will forever live on through his wonderful agents and soon to include his youngest daughter, Reina.
Richard was a devoted Catholic and a member of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas where he celebrated his strong faith with God and with his family.
His presence and his profound love will be forever missed in our lives! Until we meet again in the Heavenly Kingdom of God, we will cherish his beautiful memories, life lessons and wisdom that he instilled in all of our hearts.
His services are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home on Monday July 20 at 5pm to 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm in the chapel, White Ranch Road.
His burial mass will be held Tuesday morning at 10am at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church. His final resting destination will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park. La Feria, Texas.
