Richard Lee LaMay

Richard Lee LaMay, a lifelong resident of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away at the age of 82 on August 5, 2026. He was a resident of Indian Lake, located within Los Fresnos, Texas.

Richard enjoyed working for Greyhound as a bus driver for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Illinois and Harlingen, Texas. His favorite pastimes were fishing, singing karaoke, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He loved his two boxers dearly, Peanut and Blondie.

He is survived by his partner, Elia Montez; his brother, Bob (Sue) LaMay; and his sister, Rose Bauer.

He is also survived by his children, Tracey (Brian) Vincer and Richard LaMay (Lori Boyd); stepdaughters, Laura Montez (Travis Walker), Julia (Michael) Alvarez, Maria Montez (Jesse Pinales), and Janet Beltran (Luke Wichman); and his loving grandchildren, William, Adalyn, Ava, Allison Alvarez, Christopher (Grace) LaMay, Cassandra (Sheane) Fry, Joshua and Cloe Mendoza, Briana, Bianca Beltran, and Luke Wichman.

His great-grandchildren are Alaina Fry and Cecilia LaMay.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Procter LaMay; his son, Christopher LaMay; and his mother, Caroline Jeanette Bauer.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 26873 N. White Ranch Rd., La Feria, TX 78559, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
