Bob married Vera on October 7, 1953. During their life together they lived in Virginia, where Bob proudly served in the Navy for 4 years aboard the ship Ciboney. Returning to Ohio following his military service, Bob worked at Ohio Bell and the AT&T Companies for over 25 years. One Bell assignment involved moving his family to Tehran, Iran where they resided until the Shah was overthrown. Air evacuated out on the last plane, they returned to Ohio. Upon retirement, Bob and Vera split their time between Motorhoming and living at Buckeye Lake.
With Bob’s pioneering spirit, he explored each and every byway, either by car, motorhome, or motorcycle. He never took the same way twice.
Ultimately, Bob and Vera settled in Harlingen, Texas.
Bob's strong Christian faith was evidenced during his time in Columbus, Ohio as member of the Southwood Church of Christ where he served as both an Elder and a Deacon.
In Harlingen, Texas he was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
The family would like to thank Angie Garcia and Sorida Longoria for their exceptional Hospice care and friendship; Dr. Shridhar Kotta for his extraordinary availability, care and continuous concern for Bob and the entire family; and Monica Lopez, Irene Martinez, and Roy Ramos for their dedicated daily attendance to all needs.
Bob's journey is not yet complete. As Bob and Vera have always done things together for the last 67 years, his ashes will be held until Vera can join him. At that time, a joint celebration of life will be held at Buckeye Lake, Ohio.
