Roberto attended Harlingen High School and later joined the Gary Job Corps. There he learned and studied the trade of plumbing which gave him the hands on training and skills which enabled him to acquire a Master plumbing license.
Roberto was a devoted Catholic and though he lived and made his living in Dallas, Texas he would frequent the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle - National Shrine. He had a very strong faith with our Virgencita and made good to his promises to her.
Roberto married Mary Ellen Miranda in 1968 and had four children in San Marcos, Texas. He would later relocate to Dallas, Texas in mid-1970’s where there he started his own business Ruiz Plumbing & Electric. His business thrived and was well known throughout Dallas and surrounding states.
For 46 years he was a successful master plumber till in early 2019 he fell ill and became incapacitated. His daughter Rachel (Ruiz), husband Victorio Velazquez and family relocated him back to San Marcos, Texas where there they loved, cared & nurtured him till his passing.
The one thing Roberto loved doing was listening to C&W his favored being Johnny Cash & Tejano music. He loved to dance and was not the least bit embarrassed as to his mariachi dance style and chanting to the music. He had and made friends easily. His friendliness and talking to strangers is why his business thrived. He was devoted to his business 100% and was a true workaholic through & through. Started early and would finish late in the evening. Roberto will be immensely missed by his friends and family.
