Born on February 17, 1961, in Garden City, Kansas to Van DeHart and Jane Stebens, Robin lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and generosity. Those who knew him will remember him for always holding the door open for people, gushing about his kids and grandkids, his ability to pick the perfect gift, and his desire to always be working on DIY projects.
Throughout his life, Robin built a career rooted in physical labor and his ability to fix anything. Many people will remember him from his time working for the engineering department at Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen. Robin took pride in his strong work ethic and craftsmanship, making sure every detail was perfect. Through his hard work and dedication he earned the respect and admiration of coworkers and friends alike. Following his time at VBMC, he branched out into the field of environmental engineering and worked for Ranger Environmental Services in Austin, TX. There he gained experience in project management and took on leadership roles. Towards the end of his career he worked for Stripes, Sunoco, and SPATCO Energy Solutions filling the position of Superintendent of building new stores and rebranding acquired locations.
During his time at VBMC, he met the love of his life, Judi. They lived a life full of love and adventures. From DIY home improvement projects, camping trips, late night fishing trips, and going on cruises, Robin and Judi were always on the go.
Away from work, Robin found joy in woodworking and carpentry. He had an eye for detail when carving pens and handmade perfume atomizers and he was always on the lookout for the next project he wanted to tackle. Another passion of Robin’s was cooking and hosting family dinners. His specialties were smoked brisket, smoked turkey, and pasta. His grandchildren loved to stay the night because they would always be treated to freshly popped popcorn and a full breakfast spread the next morning.
More than any accomplishment, Robin treasured time spent with family. He was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, creating memories through holidays, vacations, and Sunday dinners. The love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Robin was preceded in death by his parents, Van DeHart and Jane Stebens
